- Next, tap deactivation and deletion at the bottom of the page
- If the small circular box that is before the deactivation button is checked already, tap on the continue to deactivation button at the bottom right of the dialog box
- Now, enter your Facebook password in the space provided and tap on the continue button
- Proceed to select the reason why you want to deactivate your Facebook account and tap on the close button
- Tap deactivate at the bottom of the box
- Finally, tap “deactivate now” and your account will be taken off facebook for some period of time.

How To Reactivate A Deactivate Account On Facebook
If however, you have deemed it fit to come back on facebook after deactivation, all you need to do is to reactivate it.
The steps involved in re-activating Facebook account is very simple and easy.
Interestingly, to reactivate your account on Facebook after deactivating it, simply hover to facebook.com or your Facebook app and log in to your account using your email address or phone number and your correct login password as usual.
When once you do that successfully, your Facebook account will be back for use, and all your information is readily available.

Facebook users can also choose to deactivate their account permanently. Here, there is no option for reactivating once carried out successfully. That is why it is important you’re sure of deleting your Facebook account before you proceed.
One thing that is worthy of doing here before deactivating your Facebook account permanently is to download a copy of your Facebook information.
So if you’re serious with deleting your Facebook account, do this first:
- Log into your account on the giant social media platform
- Next, tap on the triangular-shaped icon at the top right corner of your Facebook page
- Tap settings
- Tap on your facebook information
- Tap on download your information. See the screenshot below;
- Tap on create file at the right-hand side of the page. Now, you’ll see a message like the one below.
7. Wait for some time and Facebook will notify you once your data is ready for download.
8. Now go to your notification button at the top right corner of your facebook page, locate and tap on your facebook information file is ready to download. See the screenshot below.
9. Next, click on the download button and a copy will be delivered into your device. See screenshot below’
That is how to download a copy of your data from facebook.
Once you’re done with that, you can now proceed to delete facebook permanently.
To delete your Facebook account permanently, do the following:
- Use this link: https://www.facebook.com/help/delete_account to proceed to the facebook deletion page
- If you’re yet to login your account you’ll be prompted to do so
- Next, tap on the delete my account option at the bottom right of the dialog box. See a screenshot below.
4. You may need to confirm account deletion. If that is the case, tap on the confirm button and you’re done.
Your Facebook account has now be scheduled for permanent deletion.
